The Swimming Race (Free Tour) is an open water swimming event held in various scenic locations across Lazio, including Lake Castel Gandolfo, Santa Marinella, Lake Bracciano (Trevignano area), Lake Vico, and Lake Bolsena. Designed to offer an accessible and authentic experience for all swimming enthusiasts, this non-competitive event invites participants to enjoy the pleasure of open water swimming without the pressure of a race.
Race Program:
Each stage features a 3 km course. The starting point will be marked with an inflatable arch, and swimmers are required to wear a safety buoy. There will be minimal assistance in the water and marker buoys along the course.
Registration takes place on-site without a race kit.
The participation fee is €15 per each event, payable on location.
Prepare adequately by training in the pool or open water for at least 60–70 minutes. Have a light breakfast, rich in sugars and low in fats; avoid alcohol before the event. Start at a moderate pace, aiming to maintain a steady breathing rhythm before increasing speed. If you need assistance, raise one arm to signal for help.
GENERAL REGULATIONS – SWIMMING RACE (FREE TOUR)

The event is designed with the aim of promoting open water swimming, offering an organized, accessible and safe experience, open to swimmers of all levels.
Registration and Participation Contribution
Registration takes place exclusively on site, before the start of the event. The participation contribution is €15 for each event. No advance registrations are available, and no payment methods other than on-site registration are accepted. The contribution does not represent a race entry fee, but a contribution to support the organization and activities of the event.
Classification and Time Recording
A single overall classification is provided. No age groups or categories are provided. Finish times will be recorded by the organization, without the use of official timing systems, and are intended for informational and organizational purposes only.
Awards, Recognition and Materials
No prizes, medals or official awards are provided. No race pack or gadgets are included.
Event Conduct and Safety
All participants must wear a mandatory safety buoy. Swimmers must follow the marked course and buoy positioning. Minimum in-water assistance will be provided to support participants. In case of emergency, swimmers must raise one arm to signal the need for assistance.
Third Half and Event Philosophy
The Swimming Race (Free Tour) is conceived as a “training session shaped like a race”: a structured swim that recreates race dynamics, but without competitive pressure. The participation contribution is intended to support organizational and safety costs and to make possible the final third half, a social and convivial moment of sharing the experience, considered an integral part of the event.
General Conditions
The organization reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the event in the event of weather or environmental conditions that are not suitable for safe execution.
